Mother's Ruin Punch is a traditional English punch with a long history. It is typically made with gin, tea, lemon juice and sugar, but it can also be made with other alcoholic spirits as well.

Ingredients
Ingredients:
- 1 cup white sugar
- 2 cups boiling water
- 3 cups freshly squeezed orange juice or store bought juice concentratediluted to taste with cold water
- 6 ounces ginsuch as London dry gin or a citrus flavored gin like tanqueray Ten
In a medium saucepan, dissolve the sugar in the boiling water over medium heat. Let cool completely and pour into a large pitcher.
Add the orange juice, gin, Cointreau liqueur and lemon juice to the cooled syrup and stir until combined.
Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving over ice cubes in individual glasses with an optional garnish of fresh orange slices on each glass rim (optional).
