Add the gin, lemon juice, and raspberry syrup to the shaker.
Shake vigorously for 10 seconds or until the outside of the shaker has frosted over with condensation from the cold liquids inside it.
Optional - add ½ of an egg white before shaking for a creamier texture and richer flavor profile; if using raw eggs make sure they are fresh and free from bacteria by purchasing pasteurized eggs in shell form or liquid pasteurized eggs found at most grocery stores in the dairy aisle near other egg products).
Strain into a chilled coupe glass or martini glass, garnish with a maraschino cherry, and serve immediately!
