London Dry Gin

London dry gin is a popular choice for drinks, and it’s made using the traditional distillation process. The botanicals used in London dry gin are juniper berries, coriander seeds, angelica root, and citrus peels. This type of gin has a bold flavor with slight hints of sweetness from the citrus notes. It’s also very aromatic with an intense juniper aroma that makes it perfect for cocktails like martinis or gimlets.

London dry gin works well in many different types of drinks because its strong flavor stands up to other ingredients like bitters or sweeteners. Its high alcohol content also helps to balance out sweeter flavors so you can enjoy your drink without feeling overwhelmed by too much sweetness.

Old Tom Gin

Old tom gin is similar to London dry but slightly sweeter due to the addition of sugar during distillation. This type of gin was popular during the 18th century and is now making a comeback as bartenders look for ways to add complexity to their cocktails.

The sweetness from old tom makes it great for tiki-style drinks where you want some extra body and texture without overpowering other flavors. It mixes particularly well with tropical fruits like pineapple and coconut which help bring out its complex aromas even further. Old tom also works great in lighter summery drinks such as spritzes or Collinses because its subtle sweetness complements fruity sodas perfectly while adding depth at the same time.

Plymouth Gin

Plymouth is another classic style of English gin that originated in Plymouth (hence its name). It’s made using seven specific botanicals including coriander seed, orange peel, cinnamon bark and nutmeg which give it a unique taste profile compared to other gins.

This type of spirit has an earthier flavor than some others which makes it ideal for darker wintery cocktails such as negronis or Manhattans where you want something smoother than London dry but still full-bodied enough not get lost amongst all the other ingredients involved in these drinks recipes! Its robust taste will really stand out against any mixers added meaning your cocktail won’t be dull – instead each sip packs plenty punch!
