The Vodka Tonic is a simple but popular cocktail that consists of vodka and tonic water, garnished with a slice of lime. While its exact origin is unclear, it is generally believed to have originated in the United States during the mid-20th century, and was likely inspired by the gin and tonic, which has been a popular cocktail since the 19th century.

The Vodka Tonic is a versatile cocktail that can be adapted to a wide variety of preferences. The amount of vodka and tonic water can be adjusted to taste, and the addition of a squeeze of lime can add a touch of tartness and complexity. Some variations may also include other ingredients, such as flavored syrups or fresh herbs.
