Ingredients Needed To Make A Perfect Planter’s Punch

The most important part about making any good cocktail is having the right ingredients on hand. For our version of Planter’s Punch we recommend starting with 1 ounce each of white rum, dark rum, grenadine syrup and orange liqueur such as Cointreau or Grand Marnier. You’ll also need 2 ounces each freshly squeezed pineapple juice and freshly squeezed orange juice along with 1 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice.

Lastly, don’t forget a dash or two (or three!) of Angostura bitters which adds just enough spice without overwhelming the other flavors too much – trust us when we say it makes all the difference! Once you’ve got all these items together then you’re ready to start mixing up some tasty drinks.

Making your own delicious cocktails doesn’t need to be difficult – in fact it can actually be quite simple if done correctly! First fill a shaker with ice cubes then add all your ingredients except for one teaspoonful out reserved Grenadine Syrup into it before shaking vigorously until well blended.

Pour over crushed ice into tall glasses (or mugs if preferred) before topping off with remaining teaspoonful Grenadine Syrup which should settle at bottom giving drink delightful pink hue. Finally garnish glasses with slices of fresh fruit like lemon/lime wedges & maraschino cherries. Enjoy!

Glassware

Planter’s Punch is often served in a Hurricane glass, which is a tall stemmed glass with an inward-curving rim. This type of glass was traditionally used to serve tropical cocktails, and it helps to enhance the visual presentation of colorful concoctions like Planter’s Punch. Additionally, some people may choose to serve this drink in a Collins or Highball glass.

Flavors

is an iconic and beloved cocktail with a flavor profile that is sweet, tangy, and tropical. This classic beverage typically consists of rum, lime juice, grenadine syrup or simple syrup, pineapple juice and bitters. The base spirit in Planter’s Punch is the star of the show; rum adds notes of oakiness, sweetness from molasses and hints of vanilla. The addition of lime brings out a tartness to balance out the sweetness from the rum as well as adding a nice citrus aroma to round it all off.

Grenadine syrup or simple syrup add body to this cocktail while providing additional sweetness – though it also has fruity undertones that can be picked up on when sipped slowly.

Pineapple juice gives Planter’s Punch its signature tropical taste while further enhancing its sweeter side along with aromas reminiscent of summer days spent lounging at the beach. Bitters are added for complexity but they don’t overpower any other flavors in this crowd-pleaser; instead they simply bring everything together nicely so each sip feels like taking a mini vacation!
