Flavors
Hurricane cocktails are a classic tropical beverage, perfect for sipping in the sun. The flavor profile of this delicious drink is sweet and sour with a hint of spice. It’s made with two types of rum – light and dark – plus orange juice, pineapple juice, lime juice, grenadine syrup and optional bitters.
The combination of sweet fruit juices creates an overall sweetness to the drink that is balanced out by tart citrus notes from the lime juice.
Grenadine lends a pleasing red hue while adding just enough sugar to make it enjoyable without being overly cloying. All in all, hurricane cocktails offer a delightful blend of fruity flavors mixed with zesty citrus notes and just enough kick from spices to keep your palate guessing!
