A Classy Elegant Cocktail

One cocktail that stands out above all others is the French 75, an elegant blend of gin, lemon juice and champagne that creates a perfect balance between sweet and sour.

What Is A French 75?

A French 75 is an iconic drink that originates from France in 1915. It was created by Harry MacElhone at his bar Harry’s New York Bar in Paris during WWI. The drink was named after the powerful artillery guns used by the Allied Forces during WWI known as “French 75mm field gun” due to its strong kick similar to being hit with one of these guns.

The traditional recipe consists of gin (or cognac), freshly squeezed lemon juice and Champagne topped off with some sugar syrup for sweetness if desired. This combination creates a light yet intense flavor profile which has remained popular until today.

Why Is It So Special?

The beauty of this drink lies within its simplicity – using only three main ingredients – yet still packing a punch when enjoyed responsibly! It’s also incredibly versatile; different variations exist depending on what type of alcohol you use or even if you prefer not to have any alcohol at all! You can easily customize it according to your taste preferences without compromising on quality.

Flavors

The French 75 is a classic cocktail made with gin, lemon juice, simple syrup and champagne. It has a delightful flavor profile that combines the tartness of lemon, sweetness from the syrup and subtle herbal notes from the gin. This refreshing drink can be enjoyed either before dinner or as an after-dinner libation.

The base of French 75 is gin, which adds a unique herbal flavor to the cocktail. Gin is typically made with juniper berries which provides this signature botanical taste.
