Neat or With Cocktails?

Cassis is a type of liqueur made from black currants, which are native to France. It has a sweet yet tart flavor that pairs well with many different drinks and foods. While it’s traditionally served neat, some people prefer to enjoy it in cocktails or mixed with other beverages.

When drinking cassis neat, the best way is to use an old-fashioned glass and pour one ounce of the liqueur into it. Swirl the liquid around in the glass before taking your first sip. The aroma should be delightful and inviting! If you’d like to add something extra, consider adding a few drops of fresh lemon juice or bitters for an added complexity.

For those who prefer their cassis in cocktails, there are several options available. Try making a Kir Royale by combining sparkling wine with cassis for a refreshing drink perfect for any occasion! Alternatively, mix equal parts vodka and cassis over ice for a delicious Black Russian cocktail. Or if you’re feeling adventurous, try creating your own unique concoction using whatever ingredients you have on hand!

Pairing Cassis With Food

Cassis makes an excellent accompaniment to food due its sweet yet tart flavor profile. For starters, try pairing this unique spirit with cheese plates – just remember not to overpower milder cheeses such as brie or camembert with too much cassis!.
It also goes surprisingly well with desserts such as chocolate mousse or creme brulee – simply sprinkle some dried black currants over each serving before serving them up!. Additionally, this liqueur can be used in sauces and marinades when cooking meats such as beef tenderloin steaks – simply reduce half cup of Cassis down into syrup before pouring over top of your favorite cut of steak!.

Enjoying Cassis

No matter how you choose to enjoy Cassis – neat or mixed in cocktails – make sure you take time savor its distinctive flavor profile! And don’t forget that while this French liqueur is often enjoyed alone after dinner hours (or even straight outta bottle), it also pairs very nicely alongside certain types of food dishes too! So why not give it shot next time you’re planning meal…and let us know how it turns out!?
